MARK YOUR CALENDARS: 28th Annual COOL ART SHOW in St. Petersburg

It’s the coolest place to find lots of great art this summer: the 28th Annual Cool Art Show inside the St. Petersburg Coliseum. This juried show features 75 fine artists and craftsmen, including many award winners from other shows throughout the southeast.

A gallery of photos from last year’s show can be seen here.

Always on the third weekend of July, this year’s show will be held on July 16 – 17, 2016, and will be free and open to the public from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm both days.

If you are in the market for high quality art, this is the place to be in July. You have a chance to meet and talk directly with the artists in cool, air-conditioned comfort with close, ample parking.

Hosted by the Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA), this premier indoor show takes place inside St. Petersburg’s historic Coliseum Ballroom, located at 535 4th Avenue North. Admission and parking are free. Food and beverage concessions, including beer and wine, provide convenient refreshments.

PAVA has been in existence for over 28 years, and is now organized formally as a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) art organization. Since its inception, PAVA’s artist members from Florida and the eastern United States organize several annual high caliber art shows and educational programs, including the Annual 2Cool Art at the Gulfport Casino in February. For more information about PAVA, please visit our website at http://www.pava-artists.org/

Cool Art 2015 — The 27th Cool Art Show, July 18th and 19th

Cool Art 26 from the Coliseum balcony.

Cool Art 27 has come and gone, and was a great success. Friday set-up was, unfortunately, an all-day washout in the rain. Saturday’s rain kept the crowds a little at bay, but by Sunday: patrons were coming out in droves. We wish to thank every artist, volunteer and patron who participated this year. Cool Art is run by artists, for artists; we couldn’t do it without you. See you next July!

Cool Art Show Celebrates 25 years in St. Petersburg

It was Cool inside the Coliseum at the annual Cool Art Show July 20 – 21, 2013!

The Cool Art Show arrived in the midst of summer, oblivious to heat and storms. This is a juried fine art and craft event displaying high caliber work from 80 local and statewide artists, hosted by PAVA, the Professional Association of Visual Artists.  All artwork is made in America – hand created by the artist and for sale. A remarkable collection of visual and functional creations in paint, wood, ceramics, photography, metal, glass, mixed media and jewelry. PAVA continues its tradition of representing distinction across the spectrum of artistic media.

Cool Art has grown in 25 years from its beginnings as an outlet for artists and the public in the slow summer, to a outstanding highly respected show establishing it as a not to be missed art event. In celebration of our 25 years a commemorative T-Shirt created by Denis Gaston, one of the founders of Cool Art, is still available for sale for $10. Contact us for more information.
PAVA is a not-for-profit, artist run organization. It is composed of artists from throughout the state of Florida and Eastern United States.  It has been in existence for over 25 years. PAVA hosts several art shows each year, including the Annual 2Cool Art at the Gulfport Casino in February.

Media Evaluation for Cool Art

Media evaluation from Cool Art:

The results of the evaluation of who comes to Cool Art and where did they hear about it has been fairly consistent for the past several years. The most response came from the Tampa Bay Times then the artists then the post cards. What was new this year was a large response for on line information and a little bit from TV and Radio. All this means is we need to make sure we contact all marketing areas in order to have a good turn out from the general public..
