MARK YOUR CALENDARS: 28th Annual COOL ART SHOW in St. Petersburg

It’s the coolest place to find lots of great art this summer: the 28th Annual Cool Art Show inside the St. Petersburg Coliseum. This juried show features 75 fine artists and craftsmen, including many award winners from other shows throughout the southeast.

A gallery of photos from last year’s show can be seen here.

Always on the third weekend of July, this year’s show will be held on July 16 – 17, 2016, and will be free and open to the public from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm both days.

If you are in the market for high quality art, this is the place to be in July. You have a chance to meet and talk directly with the artists in cool, air-conditioned comfort with close, ample parking.

Hosted by the Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA), this premier indoor show takes place inside St. Petersburg’s historic Coliseum Ballroom, located at 535 4th Avenue North. Admission and parking are free. Food and beverage concessions, including beer and wine, provide convenient refreshments.

PAVA has been in existence for over 28 years, and is now organized formally as a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) art organization. Since its inception, PAVA’s artist members from Florida and the eastern United States organize several annual high caliber art shows and educational programs, including the Annual 2Cool Art at the Gulfport Casino in February. A show small in comparison to the outdoor shows but big with the amount of talent. This is PAVA’S second premier juried fine art and fine craft exhibition which offers high caliber work from local and statewide artists, including the award winners from the local Gasparilla and Mainsail Art Shows: – Bill Underwood, Ana Varela, and Dave Bruner, Marilyn Vaillancourt, along with Highwayman RL Lewis. This show is a gem of contemporary and classic. A collection of hand crafted visual and functional works available for sale in paint, wood, ceramics, photography, metal, glass, mixed media and jewelry. Take your time, reflect on the work, and talk to the artists. It’s inside, it’s comfortable, and it’s not big. We have already done the hard part for you, now you decide what to take home.

This is also a chance for our winter visitors to see the high caliber of work that PAVA has been presenting for the past 27 years during the summer Cool Art Show.
Make a day of it and visit the show along with the charming waterfront town of Gulfport Florida.

2Cool Art Show 2015

Press Release:

2Cool Art Show‐ February 7th & 8th 2015
Gulfport Casino 5500 Shore Blvd. Gulfport, Fl. 33707

This is the fourth year for the 2Cool Art Show in Gulfport – and it just gets better every year!
Hosted by The Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA), the City of Gulfport and the Gulfport Downtown Merchant Association.

This juried fine art and fine craft show takes place on Saturday, February 7th and Sunday,
February 8th 2015 from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. Thirty eight juried fine artists will show and sell their work within the Gulfport Casino, located at 5500 Shore Blvd. on the waterfront in Gulfport. Parking and admission are free for this weekend event.

An invitation from the City of Gulfport encouraged this new show to emerge – an event that showcases the artistic work of PAVA’s statewide members. Since 2012, the City of Gulfport and the city’s Merchant Association have been delighted with the response from the community and have asked us to come back for a forth show. For the past 26 years art patrons have enjoyed PAVA’s July Cool Art Show in St. Petersburg.

The Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA) is proud to be co‐sponsoring this event with the City of Gulfport in a historic building that has been referred to as the “heart and hub” of Gulfport. 2Cool Art Show’s proximity to Valentine’s Day provides an excellent opportunity to find that special fine art gift for your special person.

This is also a chance for our winter visitor/resident to see the high caliber of work including hand crafted visual and functional works in paint, wood, ceramics, photography, metal, glass, mixed media and jewelry that PAVA has been presenting for the past 26 years during the summer Cool Show.
Make a day of it and visit the show along with the charming waterfront town of Gulfport Florida.
