Twelve artists from the Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA) are exhibiting their varied media visual art at Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater. Each artist is showing a small body of their work. Artists represented are Brooke Allison, Kirsten Andreason, Amanda Fullerton, James Heath, Fran McLean, Susanne Nielsen, Lynn Foskett Pierson, Lorraine Potocki, Jean Rascher, Ellen Schneider, Linda Stump and Cheryl Yellowhawk. A panel of their PAVA peers selected the artists. The artwork, which is available for purchase, is located in the upper East and West Galleries of the Hall. The exhibit may be viewed during the Hall’s scheduled performances and has been extended until August 31..
By all accounts, PAVA’s juried 2Cool Art Show, held at the Gulfport Casino the weekend of February 11th and 12th was a great success! The weather was sunny, but blustery and cool. What a great setting, overlooking Boca Ciega Bay! Not a great day for the beach in February but the crowds turned out in droves for a new, indoor art show on the Tampa Bay art show calendar.
Comments were heard to the effect that though the show was smaller than our summer Cool Art Show (34 booths with some artists sharing), the quality of the art and fine craft was very high and the venue was ideal.
Attendance for the weekend was about 2500 people; many artists reported good sales. There was plenty of parking and downtown Gulfport bustled with activity. People made a day of the 2Cool Art Show and shops and restaurants — all within easy walking distance of the Casino.
Many thanks to the city of Gulfport, the staff of the Casino and to all of our artists and hard-working volunteers.
