PAVA Members Grant Program

PAVA is pleased to announce a new grant program for our members, made possible by our partnership with Northwest Federal Credit Union (NWFCU).

Open to all current PAVA artist members in good standing for at least the prior twelve months (individual, family or student category) and 18 years of age and older. Applications are encouraged from members in all mediums and artists from all levels (emerging to professional).

Grant applications should be made for a specific project designed to enhance the artistic skills or artistic career of the individual artist.

Grant funds may be used for:

  • Attending educational classes, seminars and conferences to improve art or business skills
  • Costs involved in the arrangement of a visual arts exhibit, portfolio production, web site
  • Purchase of equipment, materials and /or services necessary for the completion of new work
  • Other career needs identified by the applicant

Grant Review:
Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis. An independent panel of three jurors from the outside community (not PAVA members) will score the applications on overall artistic excellence, estimated impact of the project on the applicant’s art career and the clarity and completeness of the application. PAVA reserves the right to increase or decrease either the amount or the number of grants awarded in any given year. Grants are limited to only one grant per member within a 3-year period.

After the completion of the grant project, grantee must provide a written report and include receipts documenting how funds were used relative to the request. Documentation of costs may include printed copies from websites identifying products or service and pricing, catalog pages or invoices from a vendor. Grantee is responsible for any tax obligations under federal, state or local laws. Grantee is required to submit an IRS W-9 form before PAVA can issue a check. The grant funds will be awarded by check once the final documentation has been received.

Work related to the award must be completed within the time parameters outlined in each specific call.

Announcements of new grant opportunities and calls for application are sent to PAVA members via email.
