“With the three fundamental components of Art: Subject, Form, and Content, I first strive to visually connect with the subject and with the use of form give expression to the content . Those inter-relatinships are the desired end in creating a good sound painting.”

Born in Louisville  Kentucky in 1950, Charles is a self taught artist living and working in St. Petersburg Florida. After a four year stint in the U. S. Navy Charles entered the retail business with Chevron for 20 years , then with Mckee Foods for another 21 years. At an early age  Charles had an  interest in art always drawing , sketching , and painting and in the last 12 years studying the Masters and ‘ learning the trade’.

” After 40 years of marriage and three grown children off to their pursuits, I decided to take the plunge myself. It had always been a dream of mine to pusue a career in fine art. Having painted Still life’s mostly indoors , it was refreshing to try and capture the local colors and moods outdoors. It is a journey I look forward to.  I am excited to explore in the genres’ of still lifes, landscapes  and figurative art.”
