PAVA Board Meeting Munutes
January 5, 2010 5:30 - 7:15 p.m.
Present: Susan Rollins Gehring, Barbara Kampe Hanson, Stephen Schatz, Barbara Burhans, Jenna Star Friedman
President Susan Gehring opened and led the meeting. Discussions included:
- Review and discussion of new Board members. Decision made to nominate Debra Weible, George Trimitsis, Veronica Stewart.
- Discussion about making Board meeting dates on a regular basis. Decision made to have Board meetings prior to regular PAVA meetings, that is, at 5:30 before 7:00 meeting on third Wednesday of every other month. (Other months being PAVA parties.)
- Discussion about By-Law Committee. Review of Articles of Incorporation. By-Laws will be more specific, i.e., when, who's on committee.
- Review of list of members and suggestions for who might be on By-Law and 501c3 Committees.
- Discussion about Cool Art Chairman. Review of members and suggestions for this position.
- Discussion of group advocacy for no off-shore drilling. Decision that it should not be formal PAVA position as it is not part of our mission.
- Discussion of NEA petition. Decision to present it at next PAVA meeting.
