    Encaustic Paintings & Wearable Art
I create encaustic paintings with beeswax and oil; and I also make wearable art from recycled materials. Alternating between modern, fashion and pop culture, I make involved encaustic paintings and wearable art designs working directly and urgently in response to my social environment. My approach involves controlled intentions by intuitive leaps of texture, layering, color and mischievous thought. Contrasts are bold, colors are pure and fusions unfold that are significant and interpretive. Surface becomes a substance and I find joy in its transformation as I journey towards a collision of mark making and image design. For me, design and painting intersect the act of seeing and are the most direct links to my private time with the world around me. Despite the necessity of working quickly in my process, as I work time is literally slowed down and I am simply inspired by my imagination and the beauty emerging in my encaustic process. My work becomes a need to explore, experiment and constantly develop the energy within. Please visit my website at
